Dr. Douglas McKown, Psy.D. Executive Director, B.E.A.M.S.Clinical Director
Dr. McKown has over 30 years of professional experience and is a licensed psychologist. He holds masters and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology as well as a masters degree in Theology. His experience includes private practice, Director of Counseling at the Headington Institute, staff Psychologist at the Claremont Colleges and Loma Linda University Medical Center. He has clinical expertise with adults in the following areas: Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, stress management, relationship/couples therapy, clergy issues, spiritual integration, assessment, learning disabilities, and conflict resolution/communication skills.
Anita Robinson, M.S.
Anita holds a Masters of Science degree in Special Education from National University. She is a native of Alabama where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Alabama State University. She also holds an Education Specialist Instructor Credential emphasis in Mild/Moderate Disabilities. She has worked for the Riverside Sheriff Department as a Case Manager for prisoners assigned to home detention, a Special Education Teacher for 9th – 12th grade students, and as Program Coordinator for youth training programs for the National Council of Negro Women Bethune Center.
Natali Garcia, M.Ed., AMFT
Natali completed her Masters degree in Marriage & Family Therapy at Cambridge College and her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology at CSU San Bernardino. Natali has a background working with children, teens and adults with disabilities, as well as providing education to parents from diverse backgrounds. She has experience working with individuals, groups, couples, and families using a variety of therapeutic approaches. Natali completed her internship at The Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center in Perris, CA. She helped the clients to regain their sobriety and reconcile with their families. Natali is bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.
David M. Johnson, M.S.
David earned a Bachelor’s degree in Brain and Behavioral Science and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis within the Health and Human Sciences field. He is deeply committed to working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and those with other developmental or intellectual disabilities that affect daily living. David is dedicated to equipping clients with effective strategies and support to help them successfully navigate the demands of everyday life. He values continued learning, demonstrates adaptability in diverse circumstances, and consistently maintains a positive outlook and empathetic approach in all settings. He strives to create a supportive environment where each person feels understood and encouraged.
Karen Shigenaka, M.S.W., LCSW Karen completed her Masters in Social Work at the University of New England, with an emphasis in children and families. She has a background in working with families in the foster care system, partnering with the foster child, foster parents, and birth parents. Karen also completed her internship hours as a Counseling Trainee at a domestic violence agency, working with survivors and counseling alongside clients as they healed from their trauma. She has worked from a trauma informed care approach in both types of agencies. Karen has experience in treating survivors of domestic violence, anxiety and depression, parenting, and blended families.
Donna Martin, M.A., AMFT Donna holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University. She brings extensive experience working with youth in both school and community-based settings, including specialized work with children with developmental needs through her roles at Inland Regional Center and as an ABA therapist. Her clinical training has focused on supporting families navigating behavioral and developmental challenges. During her internship, she worked with diverse populations and facilitated group therapy sessions on women’s codependency and healthy marriages. Donna is passionate about whole-person care and has experience addressing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, marital conflict, parenting, and adolescent development. Donna brings warmth, energy, and a deep commitment to the mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of those she serves.
Lakierra “Kierra” Hudson, M.S.
Kierra holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis from Cal State L.A. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a focus on inequalities and diversity and an Associate’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Child Development. Before joining Samaritan Counseling Center, Kierra gained diverse experience working as a behavior therapist, educator, mental health therapist, and clinical social worker. This background allows her to bring a compassionate and thoughtful approach to her work, paired with creativity, attentive listening, and a playful spirit that helps her spread joy and bring lightness into life’s challenges. Kierra is passionate about supporting her community while continuing her own personal growth. She believes every obstacle is not only an opportunity to rise but also a chance to discover joy in the journey. In her work, she guides clients in uncovering their own path of healing, resilience, and a more fulfilling life.
